Greenhill Manor Inspires Others
Greenhill Manor Care Home in Merthyr has won a local award for inspiring others at the Adult Learning Awards 2013.
The home won the ‘Inspire Award’ for its involvement in the Bridges to Work scheme, which was set up to help local unemployed adults get back into work through training and mentoring. Four individuals who were hoping to get back into work spent time at Greenhill Manor and worked towards gaining accredited qualifications and vocational experience in care. After the placement was up, the home were so pleased with their work they offered all four permanent employment.
Manager Jen Whitehouse said, “Greenhill’s experience has been very positive and has resulted in us recruiting all of the individuals on placement. The Bridges into Work team have been very supportive throughout the process both to the applicants and us. I look forward to working together in the future, not only to benefit us but also to assist in finding job opportunities for individuals living in the local area. It was an honour to win this award and be recognised for all the hard work an effort our team put into the programme.”
