Beginning of Lightwater

Work has begun on a new 58-bed care home on Lightwater Road.  The new home in Lightwater will become the care group’s 19th care home.

Hallmark Care Homes’ managing director Avnish Goyal and land & development manager Sue Earrey were joined by local councillor Tim Dodds to mark the continuing demolition of the current disused warehouse. Also in attendance were Shirley Hills and Jean Barker from the local Lightwater Darby and Joan Club, who were presented with a cheque for £250 from Hallmark Care Homes.  The care group hope to continue working with the local club throughout the building and running of the new care home.

Avnish Goyal said: “We are learning and becoming more ambitious with each new build, and this will be reflected in the outstanding facilitates and new initiatives at our newest home in Lightwater. The whole team and I are very excited about raising the bar in terms of what we do to meet the needs of our residents”.

The state-of-the-art home will offer residential, nursing and specialist dementia care. Facilities will include a therapy room, cinema, garden terrace, café and a residents’ laundry room.

The home is due for completion in November 2014.
