Anisha Grange marks Her Majesty’s 90th with a royal street party
Residents at our care home in Billericay, Essex celebrated the official 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth, Britain’s longest-serving monarch with a slap-up buffet and sing-along.
Team members, relatives and residents of Anisha Grange Care Home, showed their support for Her Majesty’s latest milestone with a sit down meal for over 100 people, celebrated in our home’s garden.
War-time food fit for a Queen was on offer and professional entertainer Hannah from Helen Scott Productions sang songs from the era, much to the delight of residents who joined in.
At 4pm, Anisha Grange toasted The Queen and throughout the day residents and visitors to our home enjoyed having their photo taken with the homes finely dressed Pearly Queen and King.
Relative, Julia Rose said: “It was a wonderful day, the whole place was buzzing and it was nice to see my dad up dancing.”
Resident, David Barter, 84 said: “It was a wonderful event and wonderful effort from the home. Everything was very well arranged despite the weather.”
Allan Clarke, Anisha Grange’s Hospitality Services Manager, who organised the day said: “The event was a great reminiscing opportunity for our residents who have grown up with The Queen and remember the Victory in Europe celebrations when they were in their teens.
“It was also a wonderful opportunity to bring our residents and their families together.
“Our residents and relatives had a fantastic time, loads of people were up dancing and enjoyed being part of our celebrations.”
Bryn Celyn, our care home in Maesteg, also celebrated Her Majesty’s official birthday over the weekend by hosting a high tea event for residents and relatives.
