Lifelong wish comes true for Greenhill Manor resident

Lisa James, a resident at Greenhill Manor, our care home in Merthyr Tydfil, had her lifelong wish granted when she was given the opportunity to meet Cardiff Devils ice hockey legends in the flesh.

The 45-year-old resident, who also volunteers in the home, has been a Cardiff Devils superfan for 23 years and was ecstatic when she was surprised with a VIP experience, which included meeting iconic players Joey Martin, David Brine and Jake Morissette. As a part of the experience, which was made possible by the Cardiff Devils hospitality team, she was also presented with a signed jersey from the team.

Liann Hodkinson, Lisa’s carer who accompanied her to the match said: “Lisa was so happy she couldn’t believe it. When I took her back to meet them she didn’t know where we were going, it was so nice to see her reaction. We cannot thank the Cardiff Devils hospitality team enough for providing her with this opportunity.”

Lisa said: “I was so surprised when I got to meet the team, it was phenomenal, I felt like a celebrity.”
