Bucklesham Grange team member scoops prestigious award

A care worker at Bucklesham Grange, our ‘Outstanding’ care home in Ipswich, has won a prestigious award for her activity provision.

Lifestyle Leader Kirsty Thomas was awarded the ‘Care Home Activity Organiser’ title at the East of England Great British Care Awards.

The esteemed awards, which take place across 10 regions in England, seek to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

Lifestyle Leader at Bucklesham Grange, Kirsty Thomas said: “I am over the moon to have won the East of England ‘Care Home Activity Organiser’ title. It is an honour to win a award for simply doing a job that I love.”

Winners of the 2017 awards were announced at a glittering ceremony on November 9th at the Holiday Inn in Peterborough.

A panel of judges interviewed Kirsty last month before coming to their decision.

Entrants were judged on their skills, creativity and responsibilities in arranging a needs led, varied and appropriate activities programme for care home residents.
