Anya Court Care Home to launch dementia support café
Anya Court, our care home in Rugby, will launch a dementia support café at the home in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society to encourage carers of those living with dementia to get together and support each other.
The drop in dementia support café will be open the first Tuesday of every month between 1:30pm and 3:30pm and will be hosted by an Alzheimer’s Society representative and Customer Relationship Manager Karen Handley.
The first dementia support café session will commence on Tuesday 2nd October and will include a sing-along, Singing for the Brain activity with Anne Burrell.
Anya Court’s Customer Relationship Manager, Karen Handley said: “We have decided to launch a dementia support café in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society at the home, as one in three of us will live with dementia in our life. It is important as a care provider we get the word out there and as a community we become more dementia friendly.
“The café will offer a support network for carers, a place they can come together and share knowledge and life experiences.
“There will also be an opportunity at some sessions to extend your knowledge of dementia further with several guest speakers.”
