Arlington Manor Care Home donates £500 to East Anglian Air Ambulance

Arlington Manor, our care home in Girton, Cambridge, has donated £500 to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The residents from Arlington Manor recently donated the funds to the emergency medical service charity at a presentation afternoon at the home on Wellbrook Way.

The donation was made after the residential, nursing and dementia home received a £500 cheque towards their charity of choice after being shortlisted for a national title at the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards.

The awards, set to take place next Wednesday in London, seeks to acknowledge the contribution made by designers, architects and the owners of care homes to the well-being and quality of life for those in their care.

Lisa Vile, Customer Relationship Manager at Arlington Manor Care Home said: “We were really pleased to find out we are in the final three for the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards and to be able to donate £500 to East Anglian Air Ambulance is such a bonus. The work the team do on the air ambulance is critical to the area and it’s fantastic to hear they are aiming to offer a 24-hour service, we hope this helps.”

Barbara McGee, Community Fundraising Area Manager for East Anglian Ambulance said: “The East Anglian Air Ambulance is proud to be associated with Arlington Manor and their support for us has been incredible, with £1,500 having been donated since they have opened 14 weeks ago. Donations such as these help towards keeping our life saving service in the air and also in our current quest to become a 24/7 service. Building relationships within the community we serve is very important to us and we look forward to continuing that relationship. Together we can save lives.”
