Maycroft Manor hosts community film festival
Maycroft Manor, our care home in Brighton, recently hosted a film festival day for residents, relatives and members of the local community.
Attendees got to enjoy the following films from the comfort of Maycroft Manor’s state-of-the-art cinema room:
• The Full Monty
• Christopher Robin
• The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
• Mamma Mia
Visitors also enjoyed popcorn, sweets, homemade cupcakes and drinks to help complete the movie experience.
Resident, Patsy O’Byrne, 88 said: “I had a great time watching The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on the film festival day, I laughed a lot and Judi Dench has always been a firm favourite of mine.
“Prior to living at Maycroft Manor I wasn’t able to go to the cinema for years, so it was wonderful to be able to watch a film in the comfort of my own home and sit in the comfortable seats.”
General Manager at Maycroft Manor, Ian Cole said: “Making sure Maycroft Manor feels like a vibrant community for our residents and their loved ones is hugely important to the team here. A great time was had by all who attended and huge thanks must go to my colleagues for organising this event.
“Located on Carden Avenue, Maycroft Manor Care provides residential, nursing and dementia care services to the elderly. The home is rated 9.5/10 by Carehome.co.uk, the independent care home ratings website.”
