Couples wish granted for day out

Two care home residents enjoyed a day out in Worthing chauffeured by Rolls Royce after winning our wish-granting competition.

Bob and Peggy Turner, who will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary this year, enjoyed an all-expenses trip to Worthing where they enjoyed lunch out at Brio Restaurant, followed by a walk and shop along the pier.

Their special trip was arranged by management at Lakeview Care Home after the couple wished to go on a day out together as part of our national, Christmas wish-granting competition.

The competition called Lucky Star, encourages residents to write a wish of something they would like to have or do over the festive period.

Bob and Peggy were announced as one of the winners earlier this year.

Bob and Peggy Turner said: “What an unexpected surprise we won this Lakeview annual wish list.

“Our choice was for a day out in Worthing, we were given our wish complete with lunch and the use of a Rolls Royce for the journey. We both had a very enjoyable time.”

General Manager at Lakeview Care Home, Inder Hanzra said: “Bob and Peggy are a wonderful couple and I am so happy that we have been able to make this wish come true for them. It’s just another example of the relationship-centred care that we aim to provide to the residents at Lakeview.”
