Hallmark Care Homes team member scoops National Dementia Care Award
We are delighted to announce that a Hallmark Care Homes team member has scooped a prestigious national award.
Ebrahim Razavi, who works at Maycroft Manor Care Home, was presented with the ‘Best Dementia Carer’ title at the National Dementia Care Awards on Thursday.
The awards, which were first established in 2009 by The Journal of Dementia Care, seek to acknowledge care providers and individuals who have made a significant difference to the quality of life of people living with dementia.
Ebrahim who has worked at the home since 2014 said: “To be nominated for the Best Dementia Carer at the National Dementia Care Awards was heart-warming and unexpected, but to win it was unbelievable.
“It really hasn’t sunk in yet and I replay the moment my name was called out on the night over and over. This is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
“Everyone who was in the room on the night and the ones who continue to get up on a daily basis and strive to improve the lives of some of the country’s most vulnerable people are all winners in my eyes.”
General Manager at Maycroft Manor, Ian Cole said: “It was an honour and privilege to be present to hear Eb’s name being called as ‘Dementia Carer of the Year’ at the recent National Dementia Care awards.
“This award vindicates all the hard work, amazing Care and fantastic engagement he has shown the residents and families and everyone involved in delivering exemplary Dementia Care over the last five years within Clement Way in Maycroft Manor. The whole home is proud of this fantastic achievement.”
Hallmark team member Irene Anderson and Volunteer Wendy Richards, alongside Anya Court Care Home, were also recognised at this year’s awards, narrowly missing out on the accolades.
