Anya Court receives ORCHID award
Anya Court, our care home in Rugby was recently presented with Hallmark Care Homes’ ORCHID (Outstanding Relationship-Centred Care Home in Dementia) award for achieving all 11 outcomes of our Together Dementia Strategy.
In September 2017, we launched our three-year strategy outlining the actions we will undertake to help our team members deliver outstanding dementia care, training and support.
The strategy was developed following extensive consultation with 100 residents, 75 relatives and 100 team members and has been supported by a £250,000 annual investment to identify the outcomes which would have the most positive effect on our communities.
After adopting a whole home approach and working together, Anya Court, achieved all 11 outcomes becoming our 10th home to achieve the award this year.
They were recently presented with a special plaque by Hallmark Care Homes’ Head of Relationship-Centred Care, April Dobson, at a ceremony at the home.
April Dobson said: “Anya Court’s achievement of the orchid award is the result of the whole home working together to improve the lives of people living with dementia.
“The team have considered how they can have a positive impact on all areas of our resident’s lives and should be congratulated for the difference they make.”
General Manager at Anya Court, Julie Weaver said: “We had a fantastic day at Anya Court celebrating the great work from the team that has gone into achieving our 11 Dementia outcomes that make up the ORCHID Award.
“A huge thank you to all involved and a special mention must go to the kitchen team for providing a wonderful buffet for the team.”
