Hallmark Care Homes Foundation supports The Care Workers Charity Emergency Coronavirus Fund

The Hallmark Care Homes Foundation, which was set up to make a difference to the care sector, has made a significant donation to support care workers who have been financially affected by the COVID-19 outbreak via The Care Workers Charity Emergency Coronavirus Fund.

This pledge made by the Hallmark Foundation is alongside our own support fund which seeks to provide help for any Hallmark Care Homes employee who needs financial support during these challenging times.

The CWC Emergency Coronavirus Fund will support those at the frontline of the Coronavirus crisis, who need to self-isolate after caring for the most vulnerable members of our society. The fund is available for all care workers in social care.

Trustee of Hallmark Care Homes Foundation and Founding Trustee and now Patron of The Care Workers Charity, Avnish Goyal said: “The Hallmark Care Homes Foundation is pleased to be able to support this campaign. There are almost 2 million care workers in the UK and unfortunately a number of them will fall between the cracks and will not receive the support they need and deserve. The Care Workers Charity has always been there for that rainy day and that is certainly the situation right now. I support this cause and hope that this acts as a catalyst for others to join forces too.”

Karolina Gerlich, Executive Director at The Care Workers’ Charity said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Hallmark Care Homes Foundation for their support. COVID-19 is one of the biggest crisis’s our generation will see in its lifetime. Care workers are at the frontline of this, caring for the most vulnerable people in our society who are most susceptible to the virus. If a care worker needs to self-isolate, they will fall into desperate need. For this reason, we need more funds for extra emergency grants.”

Over £129,000 has been raised already out of The Care Workers Charity £1,000,000 fundraising target.
