An honest interview with Diana, Clinical Care Manager at Regency House
We caught up with Clinical Care Manager at Regency House Care Home, Diana Grec, to find out what her role entails and what makes her proud to work at our residential and nursing home.
What does the role of Clinical Care Manager entail?
The role of Clinical Care Manager requires me to work alongside all of the care team and deputise for the General Manager.
I’m responsible for ensuring a high level of clinical care and governance is provided to residents, that meets all statutory and regulatory requirements and is aligned to codes of conduct and company procedures. I lead the clinical team to ensure they are aligned with the Hallmark vision and are operating from the Hallmark Charter.
Do you have a personal highlight in your role?
To help to maintain resident’s independence is an extremely rewarding experience. Being able to give them the support they need to live day-to-day allows me to see the results of my hard work. Being a Clinical Care Manager is a career that lets me make a difference to people’s lives.
What makes you proud to work at Regency House?
We work as a team to help the residents and in return it makes me feel good about myself and what I do for others. People genuinely care about each other personally and work together as a team. Additionally, the tasks are very challenging and match my career goals.
What is the most important part of your role?
There’s no such thing as more or less important. Being a Care Manager means to be there and be open for the team and the residents. It is extremely important to know how to lead by example at all times.
What qualifications do you need to be a Clinical Care Manager?
To a Clinical Care Manager with Hallmark Care Homes, you need to be RN/RGN qualified with strong clinical experience and a Dementia Qualification for dementia care homes. I personally have a Level 5 NVQ in Leadership and Management and Health and Social Care and a degree in Nursing.
How do you spend your free time?
I love spending my time outside, either walking my dog or just having a picnic with my family. I enjoy cooking, reading books and watching movies. I also enjoy practicing yoga every evening before sleep.
