Alexandra Grange Care Home receives ORCHID award
We are delighted to announce that Alexandra Grange, our industry-leading care home in Wokingham, was recently presented with Hallmark’s ORCHID (Outstanding Relationship-Centred Care Home in Dementia) award for achieving all 11 outcomes of our Together Dementia Strategy.
In September 2017, we launched our three-year strategy outlining the actions we will undertake to help our team members deliver outstanding dementia care, training and support.
The strategy was developed following extensive consultation with 100 residents, 75 relatives and 100 team members and has been supported by a £250,000 annual investment to identify the outcomes which would have the most positive effect on our 20 communities.
After adopting a whole home approach and working together, Alexandra Grange achieved all 11 outcomes.
They were recently presented with a special plaque by Head of Relationship-Centred Care at Hallmark Care Homes, April Dobson, Managing Director Ram Goyal and Operations Director Aneurin Brown at a virtual ceremony for our residential and dementia home.
April Dobson said: “I was delighted to join our MD and Operations Director recently to recognise the achievement of the team at Alexandra Grange. Achieving the Hallmark Care Homes’ ORCHID award for excellence in dementia care demonstrates how hard they have worked to implement the very high standards that were set in our Dementia Strategy. The team have worked together to not only achieve this accolade, but to embed the practices that we know make a difference to the individual lives of people living with dementia. They are all deserving of our congratulations and our respect!”
Lifestyle’s Leader at Alexandra Grange, Katriona Beeton said: “The ORCHID status and Together Strategy has been so close to our hearts here at Alexandra Grange. It is something we are truly proud to have achieved as a whole home thanks to Magda, Ruben, Andrina and myself. For us it isn’t just something we have achieved it is something we will continue to achieve and work on as a whole home. We could not have achieved this without the passion and support of the whole team, the residents and family members. We will continue to strive for the excellence that this ORCHID award brings and deliver relationship centred care to every resident at Alexandra Grange living with or without dementia.”
