Admiral Court care worker to take part in charity walk

Customer Relationship Manager at Admiral Court Care Home, David Martins, will be taking part in a six-mile walk to raise money for the Dementia Appeal at the Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity.

The walk, which will take place on Friday 28th October, will start at The Southend Coast Guard Station and finish at our Outstanding home on Manchester Drive. David will be undertaking the challenge alongside Lead Dementia Navigator for Southend, Jess St John and Chair of the Southend Dementia Action Alliance, George Pearl.

All funds raised will be used to create a more dementia friendly hospital environment, allowing patients who are living with dementia to have a more comfortable stay at Mid and South Essex Hospitals.

David said: “A lot of charity walks and other events have been cancelled due to COVID-19, but this doesn’t mean that we have to stop supporting good local causes.

“Jess, George and I all work in Southend, helping families and loved ones who live with dementia on a daily basis and we want to give back and support these people during this tough time.

“Southend Hospital have a vision of having a dementia friendly hospital environment which is so important to people who visit the hospital. By raising these funds, and supporting the hospital, we can help them achieve that vision.”

David Martins is attempting to raise £500 for Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity. If you would like to make a donation to this worthy cause, you can do so here.
