Ty Enfys walks 100km for Comic Relief
Care workers and residents at Ty Enfys, our care home in Cardiff have been taking part in a fundraising walk for Comic Relief, inspired by the efforts of Captain Sir Tom Moore.
The team and residents will be completing a staggering 100km by walking 1,100 laps of the gardens, aiming to raise £300 to donate to charity.
The fundraising efforts will be supporting Comic Relief’s mission to provide happiness and assistance to all those who may be struggling this year.
Beginning in February, the residents and team members have been walking daily, making use of the outdoor space to enjoy the fresh air and nature.
The walk will be completed on the 19th of March, which is Comic Relief Day across the UK. The home will celebrate their fundraising efforts by putting on a cabaret lip sync concert for the residents to enjoy at the end of the day.
Sales Champion at Ty Enfys Care Home, Bethan Hurley, said: “The residents and team were spurred on by the amazing achievements of Captain Sir Tom and wanted to have something to focus on and commit to. So, we chose to mirror his achievements with our own attempt around our award-winning gardens and walk 100km, which equates to 1100 laps.”
