Ty Enfys residents create backdrop for primary school production

Residents at Ty Enfys, our care home in Cardiff, have been working in conjunction with Creative Mojo West Cardiff to create a backdrop for a local school’s production of ‘The Lion King.’

The residents at the home have been painting and decorating bright flowers to create a wildlife background which will be paired with cut out jungle animals for Springwood Primary School.

Lifestyles Team Leader at Ty Enfys, Lily Chapman said: “We all loved creating the backdrop for the school play.

“It was so nice to feel connected to our community in any small way. We miss seeing the children, who would come to Ty Enfys to help us garden or play games. Many of them are Dementia Friends and we can’t wait to see them all again soon!”

Residents at the home also thoroughly enjoyed painting the leaves. One said: “I did many of the leaves and found it fun!” whilst another said: “I enjoyed doing this for the school children and hopes it brings them lots of fun!”

The school will be sending a recording of their performance so the residents can watch the exciting production.
