Hallmark Care Homes launches craft club

We are delighted to announce that we have launched the Hallmark Craft Club!

The Hallmark Craft Club, which has launched in celebration of National Day of Arts in Care Homes, will see our homes comes up with new, fun and innovative ways to give residents the opportunity to participate in the arts.

Each month, the homes will take it in turns to come up with an activity, which will then be rolled out to the rest of our 19 homes in England and Wales. The homes, which will be provided with all of the resources they need to complete the task, will be able to watch an online tutorial from the hosting home.

For the first month, the hosting home is Anisha Grange, our care home in Billericay, who have made a painted cactus rock garden activity for the other homes to enjoy.

Wellbeing Manager, Georgina Miller said: “September saw the launch of the Hallmark Care Homes new monthly craft club. We chose September the 24th as the launch date to tie in with this year’s National Arts in Care Home Day.

“Arts in Care Homes is a project managed by NAPA and funded by The Baring Foundation and The Rayne Foundation.

“The Arts covers a wide range of activities including music, dance, painting, knitting, sewing, sculpting and much more. Being involved with the Arts has been proven to have both physical and emotional benefits, and many of the residents in our care homes still relish the opportunity to engage in their life long hobbies and interests, as well being able to learn new skills.”
