Topping out ceremony for new Bath care home
A major milestone has been marked at our new, state-of-the-art 80 bed care home on Frome Road which will provide residential, nursing and dementia care and create 100 jobs locally.
Our site’s construction team were recently joined by Hallmark Care Homes’ Chair Avnish Goyal, the Mayor of Bath Councillor June Player and MP for Bath Wera Hobhouse to mark the next stage of the build.
As part of the special event, a stone block was pointed and a special commemorative plaque unveiled. Guests then enjoyed refreshments nearby and a presentation from our care homes experienced interior designer, regional hospitality manager and commissioning manager.
Midford Manor Care Home is being built by Savista Developments at a cost of £16 million on a 1.6-acre site at Frome Road in Bath.
Facilities will include; a café which will serve complimentary hot drinks and homemade cakes and biscuits, a state-of-the-art cinema and a luxurious hairdressing salon and therapy room. In addition to spacious bedrooms with full en-suites, the home will have 15 exclusive suites which will include a fully fitted kitchenette with the latest appliances, a dining area, lounge as well as a large ensuite bathroom.
Other innovations at our home will include; a wellness room which will support residents to build up strength and keep fit, a specialist dementia community which incorporates the latest technology and thinking in care home design as well as an abundance of outdoor space on all floors. This includes terraces, a roof garden and garden bar where residents will be encouraged to take part in gardening and enjoy the sun all year round.
Avnish Goyal said: “This year we will celebrate 25 years of building and running industry-leading care homes. Following our success in 2021 winning Residential Care Provider at three separate award ceremonies, we are excited to be able to create a luxurious and engaging new care community in Bath and deliver exceptional care to future residents.
“Midford Manor Care Home will provide residents with a place where they feel safe and supported to live an active and fulfilled life. Our caring and dedicated teams, will be provided with on-going training and support and much thought and consideration has gone into the design of this beautiful new home.”
Bath MP Wera Hobhouse commented: “It was a real pleasure to join the Hallmark Care Homes team celebrating a new milestone at Midford Manor in Odd Down. Hallmark Care Homes’ promises to bring a lot of caring expertise to Bath especially in dementia care. It is obvious how much thought has gone into the planning and building of the new facility and I am looking forward to seeing it open later in the year.”
Midford Manor is scheduled to open its doors to its first residents this autumn.
The new development will be our 21st care home.
