Lakeview care home hatch chicks for Easter

Lakeview, our care home in Lightwater, recently hatched seven chicks for the residents to enjoy, just in time for Easter.

The eggs arrived from Incredible Eggs on the 13th April and were kept warm in a private incubator for seven days, before springing to life and hatching just in time for the Easter celebrations at the home.

The residents had an egg-celent week spending time with the bundles of fluff during many handling sessions at the home. This week, the chicks, which are from a free-range farm, will go back to the farm to be cared for.

The residents at team at Lakeview thought long and hard about what their names should be, and in the end settled for; Nugget, Fajita, Korma, Tikka, Goujon, Supreme and Noodle.

Customer Relationship Manager at Lakeview Care Home, Louise Martin said: “There were lots of fun handling sessions over the Easter weekend and into this week.

“We are sad to see them go to their new home and will miss the sweet sound of their cheeping in the reception area, but we know they had the very best start being born at Lakeview and experiencing the first week of their lives here.”
