Ty Enfys Care Home becomes polling station
Ty Enfys, our care home in Cardiff, once again became a polling station for the day for the Local Government Elections, enabling the homes’ residents to vote from the comfort of their own homes.
The residential, dementia and nursing home used their reception area and opened up the polling station for the public to use too.
The residents all thoroughly benefitted from the activity as they were able to maintain their independence and interact with different members of the local constituency.
Customer Relationship Manager at Ty Enfys Care Home, Bethan Hurley said: “We were delighted that we could welcome back the election polling station at Ty Enfys.
“Our residents enjoyed practicing their rights and 19 residents decided to use the facilities.
“It was a busy day at Ty Enfys we were happy to welcome the community back.”
Amongst the voters was 101-year-old resident at Ty Enfys, Bob Healey, who said: “This the first time voting at Ty Enfys due to the pandemic.
“I am keeping my voting card as a memory. It was very nice.”
