Hallmark Care Homes compete in Hallmark in Bloom
Hallmark Care Homes across England and Wales will once again compete in our glorious company-wide gardening event, Hallmark in Bloom.
Hallmark in Bloom is an annual competition held to find the greenest garden in the country. This year, Hallmark in Bloom runs from the 19th July – 28th July and kicks off at Anya Court, our vibrant care home in Rugby, Warwickshire. Judging categories to this year’s event include; ‘Best Gardening Club’ and ‘Environmentally Friendly Garden.’
Since its launch in 2003, Hallmark in Bloom has been an important date in the Hallmark Care Homes calendar of events. Our residents make use of our gardens throughout the year and enjoy participating in our weekly gardening clubs but taking part in the competition allows us to create a much bigger impact. It’s an opportunity for our residents to live an active, and independent lifestyle and showcase their efforts throughout the year.
The homes have been pulling out all the stops to make sure they are in ‘full bloom’ come judgement day. From visiting gardening centres to growing their own fruits and vegetables, each home is making use of their outdoor space in their own unique way.
The judging will be done by Georgina Miller, Wellbeing Manager, Hayley Hughes from Plantology, as well as and Nick Mannion, our gardening expert in Wales, who will be accompanied by Executive Chair, Avnish Goyal.
The judging day at the home is also a great opportunity for visitors to get involved and enjoy a taste of the British summer time. This year, visitors to Admiral Court Care Home in Leigh-on-Sea, can enjoy an ‘Encanto’ themed event with a salsa music, churros, batida’s and sangria. Meanwhile, Greenhill Manor, our care home in Merthyr Tydfil, will be hosting a wild west themed event with fancy dress and a country and western singer!
The winners will be announced in August.
