Hutton View launches Christmas wish competition for residents
Residents who live at Hutton View, our care home in Brentwood are crossing their fingers after entering a Christmas wish competition.
The festive competition called Lucky Star, runs throughout December and encourages residents to make a wish however big or small and then display it on a tree within the home.
In the New Year, team members at our residential and dementia home, will review the wishes and will make at least one wish come true for a resident.
Residents wishes currently on the Lucky Star tree range from afternoon tea, to watching Tom Jones perform and a chance to feed some monkeys.
General Manager at Hutton View Care Home, Louise Baxter said: “We decided to launch this competition, because we wanted to give our residents an opportunity to have something or do something that they always wanted to do. It could be anything from seeing their favourite show in the West End to visiting their place of birth or finding a long lost relative.
“All of our resident’s get Christmas presents from us on Christmas Day, but by getting to know what they would really like to do or have, gives us an opportunity to truly enhance their happiness and make a difference.”
Lifestyles Leader at Hutton View Care Home, Hope Spencer added: “We are very excited to make some of these wishes come true. So far, from doing the activity, we have found out some amazing things about our residents and many of the wishes are very small and easily achievable.”
