Banstead Manor to launch memory café
Banstead Manor , our care home in Banstead on Brighton Road, will launch a memory café at the home in partnership with Banstead Primary Care Network to encourage carers of those living with dementia to get together and support each other.
The first drop-in memory café will take place Friday 10th March at 10:30am and will be officially opened by the Mayor of Reigate and Banstead, Councillor Frank Kelly.
Subsequent sessions will take place monthly with the next session taking place on Friday 14th April.
Banstead Manor’s Customer Relationship Manager, Lisa Rose said: “We have decided to launch a memory café in partnership with Banstead Primary Care Network at the home, as there are currently around 900,000 people in the UK living with dementia. It is important as a care provider we get the word out there and as a community we become more dementia friendly.
“The café will offer a support network for carers, a safe place they can come together and share knowledge and life experiences.
“There will also be an opportunity at some sessions to extend your knowledge of dementia further with several guest speakers.”
