Hallmark team member wins Great British Care Award!
We are delighted to announce that one of our dedicated team members has been recognised at this year’s Great British Care Awards!
Lily Davies who works Ty Enfys, our care home in Pentwyn, South Wales was awarded the ‘Care Innovator’ title at the Great British Care Wales regional ceremony.
The glittering ceremony which seeks to celebrate excellence across the care sector took place at recently at the Cardiff Marriott Hotel.
The judges at the event said: “Lily’s dedication and passion to care shown through her interview from the very first second – she is creative, bubbly but more importantly forward thinking. Her ideas are on ground level but they have an impact on multiple levels. She started her idea with the gardening project, making it more accessible for every resident, with very small changes. They even created an audio guide of the garden, for people with sight impairment. She understands the importance of team work, and knows how to get others on board. She’s working on a project called “Turn it down” which realises the noise level in the home for staff and residents too. Her future vision is to change the shift pattern for the care workers and to have an in-house nursery for staff. This would bring in more work – life balance and it would benefit the residents too. She looks up for her Mum and made a touching comment: I know my mum will be old one day – I work on the future care, so she would benefit from it.”
Lifestyle’s Leader at Ty Enfys Care Home, Lily Davies said: “It’s an absolute honour and privilege to receive this award. I was so shocked when my name was called as the other nominees were fantastic and have accomplished so much. Thank you again to those who nominated me.”
Lily will now be put forward for the Great British Care Awards National Ceremony which will take place on Friday 17th March at the ICC in Birmingham.
