Anya Court to launch Dementia Friends Café

Anya Court, our care home in Rugby, will launch a Dementia Friends café at the home to encourage carers of those living with dementia to get together and support each other.

The free drop in dementia support café will be open the third Saturday and first Wednesday of every month between 2:00pm and 4:00pm and will be hosted by the care home’s Dementia Champion and Customer Relationship Manager, Stefanie.

The first dementia support café session will commence on Saturday 18th March.

Anya Court’s Customer Relationship Manager, Stefanie Binning said: “We have decided to launch a dementia support café at the home, as there are currently around 900,000 people in the UK living with dementia. It is important as a care provider we get the word out there and as a community we become more dementia friendly.

“The café will offer a support network for carers, a safe place they can come together and share knowledge and life experiences.

“There will also be an opportunity at some sessions to extend your knowledge of dementia further with several guest speakers.”
