Banstead Manor launches Memory Café

Banstead Manor, our care home on Brighton Road, has launched a memory café at the home in partnership with Banstead Primary Care Network to encourage carers of those living with dementia to get together and support each other.

The first drop-in memory café took place on Friday 10th March and was officially opened by the Mayor of Reigate and Banstead, Councillor Frank Kelly.

Subsequent sessions will take place monthly with the next session taking place on Friday 14th April, then the second Friday of the month.

Banstead Manor’s Customer Relationship Manager, Lisa Rose said: “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to work in partnership with the Banstead Primary Care Network to offer this regular meeting place for local residents to come along and have some fun and a natter, along with the support and help to the carers who give so much.”

The Mayor Councillor Frank Kelly added: “It was an honour and a privilege to be able to open the memory cafe and I am sure that it will be a useful place to share information and help others. Plus, they have great chocolate cake!”

If you have any questions about dementia or would like to register your interest in attending the café or becoming a guest speaker, please contact Lisa at Lisa.Rose@hallmarkcarehomes.co.uk.
