Central Support raises over £200 for autism charity

To celebrate Autism Awareness Week recently, team members at our Central Support Office wore their brightest clothes and took part in a bake sale to raise money for the worthy cause.

Amongst the sweet treats were delicious cupcakes, tarts and a firm favourite, cookie cups, which were baked by Samantha Branch from our recruitment department who initially had the idea to celebrate Autism Awareness Week.

The bake sale raised an amazing £204, which will be donated to the National Autistic Society. The National Autistic Society support the 700,000 autistic people in the UK and their families. Be it running specialist schools, campaigning for improved rights or training companies on being more autism-friendly, we are dedicated to transforming lives and changing attitudes.

HR Assistant, Leanne Hankin, who organised the event said: We thought it was very important to recognise autism awareness week in Central Support and raise money towards supporting people living with autism in all aspects of daily life.

“The £204 we raised for the National Autistic Society will go towards personal support to those living with autism, their families, businesses (autism awareness training, autism-friendly job opportunities/adjustments etc), education on autism many more amazing things.”
