Soaring for a cause: Lakeview team takes a leap for local hospice

At Lakeview Care Home, compassion and care are at the heart of everything they do. Their dedication to supporting their community extends beyond the walls of the home, as two brave team members gear up for an exhilarating challenge that aims to make a significant difference in the lives of those in need. On 6th October, Lianne Johns and Clare Gallagher will be taking part in a daring skydive, all in the name of raising funds for Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care.

Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care is a charity that has touched the lives of countless patients, carers, and families. Their mission to provide holistic care for individuals with complex life-limiting and terminal illnesses. By supporting this charity, Lianne and Clare hope to contribute to the invaluable work the hospice does in supporting people facing challenging times.

For Lianne, the skydive is more than just a thrilling adventure; it’s the realisation of a long-held dream. She shared, “I am raising funds for Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and am undertaking a Sky Dive, something that has been on my ‘bucket list’ for some time. So, when this opportunity came along to turn a dream into a reality whilst raising funds for charity, I ‘JUMPED’ at the chance.”

For Clare, the skydive holds a special significance as it symbolises her determination to make a difference in the lives of those under the hospice’s care. She expressed, “I am joining the hospice Sky Dive to raise funds for them to enable them to continue their invaluable work in supporting their palliative and end-of-life care for those living in North West Surrey.”

Every penny raised through this courageous act will contribute to sustaining and expanding the hospice’s initiatives, allowing them to reach out to even more individuals who require their specialised care and support.
