We are looking forward to opening our brand new care home Hutton View and are looking for a Head Chef to join our team.

 About the role

Reporting to the Hospitality Service/ Home Manager, the Head Chef is responsible for ensuring a high quality of food service and meal preparation within the home.

As a Head Chef you will lead and manage the catering team working closely with the other service teams ensuring the highest service standards are achieved. You will have Overall responsibility for catering services within the home and will

You will support with recruitment, Induction and training of the catering team; ensuring training targets are met and teams are competent in their roles and have responsibility for the supervision, appraisal and performance management of the support services team, supporting them to achieve their potential.

You will have good attention to detail to ensure requirements of the Food Safety Manual, Health and Safety Manual and Meal policies requirements are met.

Ensure the catering services and residential dining experience is of the highest standard and quality. You will be able to promote choice and dignity to the residents of the home with the services we provide and ensure the nutritional content of the meals provided cater for the dietary needs of all residents.

Skills & Experience

Ideal candidates will hold an NVQ level 3 in Food Hygiene and have a minimum of two years in a catering background / kitchen environment, you will also have good experience dealing with finance and budgets.

You will have a proven track record leading, empowering, supporting and motivating a service team with strong leadership and management skills and possess excellent written, non-verbal and verbal communication skills

Previous care home environment delivering quality services is desirable but not essential.
