Senior Care Assistant
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will take the lead and assist with all aspects of care within the home including getting involved with the recruitment, mentoring and development of the care team. You will be instrumental in ensuring mandatory training and other care related targets are met and that your team members are confident, capable and competent in their roles. You will provide the highest standards of care in all areas of the home including relationship centered care, clincial care and dementia care.
You will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting your care team ensuring they are providing high quality of care and service to all residents at all times.
You’ll play a key part with care delivery in the home, ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed continuous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents care.
You will take an active part in engaging with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.
Skills & Experience
Ideal candidates will hold a QCF Diploma Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), have worked in a care position for a minimum of 2 years and have a proven track record in a senior care position where you have demonstrated your ability to lead, empower, support and motivate a care team.
You will also have strong customer service skills and have excellent written, non-verbal and verbal communication skills.
Experience in delivering high quality, relationship centered care is desirable and if you have knowledge of dementia (for care homes for people living with dementia) that is also beneficial.
