A fond (and cuddly!) farewell
A resident at Greenhill Manor Care Home is planning on donating her much loved cuddly toys to a local hospice. Lisa James, from the Merthyr Tydfil based home, is giving her collection to Ty Hafon children’s hospice and charity shop.
When Lisa first moved to Greenhill Manor four years ago she had a relatively modest collection of 20 soft toys, but her collection has grown massively to well over 70. She is now running out of space and wanted to use the cuddly collection to help others. She will soon be parting with her beloved toys but is happy about the decision.
Lisa said, “I hope the teddies can raise money for the hospice and bring some comfort to sick children.”
Manager, Mark McCole said, “Lisa is doing such a brilliant thing. The toys will really help the
hospice and raise some much needed funds. Her room will look very different without them but I am sure she will start building a new collection again.”
