Hallmark team members shortlisted for Wales Care Awards
Hallmark team members at Greenhill Manor, Regency House, Cartref Annwyl Fan and Shire Hall, our care homes in South Wales, have been shortlisted for three prestigious care awards.
Noteworthy employees; Aneurin Brown, Aine Loughran, Madel Kuhn, Lisa Anderson and Daniel Cole are in the running for ‘Exceptional Newcomer of the Year’, ‘Nurse of the Year’ and the ‘Excellence in Catering in Care’ category at the Wales Care Awards.
The awards first established in 2003 by Care Forum Wales, seek to reward the champions in the sector and raise public awareness of the vital contribution made by the social care workforce.
Greenhill Manor’s Hospitality Services Manager, Aneurin Brown who is in the running for the ‘Exceptional Newcomer of the Year’ category said: “All the residents have seen a positive difference since I came to work here.
“I love it, every day is different. The most important thing is to make sure that day to day, the people who live here enjoy living here and are given as much choice as possible.”
Nominating Aneurin for the award, General Manager Mark McCole said: “Since his arrival, Aneurin has made a significant difference.
“He supports residents on a daily basis and always encourages them to make independent decisions wherever and whenever possible. He frequently goes that extra mile.”
Mario Kreft, chairman of Care Forum Wales said: “The event is now firmly established as one of the highlights in the Welsh social care calendar and seen as the Oscars of social care.
“The aim is to recognise the unstinting and often remarkable dedication of our un-sung heroes and heroines across Wales.
“The care sector is full of wonderful people because it is not just a job, it’s a vocation – these are the people who really do have the X-factor.”
The 2015 winners will be named at a glittering ceremony at Cardiff City Hall on Friday November 6.
