Maycroft Manor given high praise in national survey
Team members, residents and relatives at Maycroft Manor, our care home in Brighton, are celebrating after the home performed strongly in a nationwide survey of care home residents.
Now in its fourth year, the Your Care Rating survey is the country’s largest and most authoritative survey of care home residents. The nationwide survey gives residents a voice, and is an insight into how well care homes perform. Over 20,000 residents in 963 care homes across the UK took part in the 2015 survey.
The results, released last month, show Maycroft Manor, which specialises in residential, nursing and dementia care was given an overall performance rating (OPR) score of 95.4%. This compares favourably to the national average of 87.8%.
100% of residents surveyed said that they were happy with the care and support they receive, that the home was a safe and secure place to live and that the staff treated them with kindness, dignity and respect.
Lisa Vile, Customer Relationship Manager at Maycroft Manor said: “It’s great that our residents value the care they receive at Maycroft Manor. Our scores across all four themes are really positive, which show that the people who matter most, our residents are very happy with the care they receive.
“The whole team is strongly committed to the home and to fostering an atmosphere of care and support, which enables our residents’ to live full, interesting, independent and active lives.”
Everybody involved in this fabulous result will be raising a glass to their success on Friday 11th March when Maycroft Manor will be hosting a ‘tea at the Ritz’ themed afternoon, complete with afternoon tea and the musical styling’s of a jazz trio. The Mayor of Brighton, Councillor Lynda Hyde will also be attending.
The positive news for the home, follows in the footsteps of Maycroft Manor’s latest CQC report where it was given the overall rating of ‘Good’ in all five areas of safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness and well-led.
