Anya Court to hold a Dementia Friends session – 10th April
Anya Court, our care home in Rugby, is holding a Dementia Friends’ session at the home to encourage visitors to learn more about the condition and help raise awareness.
The event will be taking place on Sunday 10th April 2015 between 11:30am and 12:30pm.
The informal and interactive session will be run by the homes Dementia Champion, Karen Handley, who is the Customer Relationship Manager at Anya Court.
The short session will explore what it’s like to live with dementia, how you can make someone who lives with dementia live a fulfilled life and the small things you can do to make a difference.
Visitors who complete the session will receive a Dementia Friends’ badge and takeaway material from the Alzheimer’s Society.
Karen Handley said: “The drop in session will tell you everything you need to know about dementia. One in three of us will live with dementia in their life, therefore it’s important that as a care provider we get the word out there and as a community we become more dementia friendly.”
