Care workers set to walk 62 miles in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK

Nine brave employees from our Central Support office in Billericay, are set to walk 62 miles in two days to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The developments team, led by Construction Director James Rowntree will walk 100km from Putney Bridge to Hallmark’s new site in Henley on Thames.

They are tackling the momentous challenge to raise awareness and funds to fuel life-changing dementia research.

And with just less than one week to go they have already raised £4,888 out of their £6,000 target, thanks to the donations from generous suppliers.

Construction Director at Hallmark Care Homes, James Rowntree said: “We are delighted to be undertaking this challenge as a team, as we are all involved in the business of providing the best care environments that we can, for people living with dementia, and understand from first-hand experience how our residents’ lives are affected on a daily basis.

“Any improvement in people’s lives as a result of the Alzheimer’s Research UK’s efforts can only be beneficial, and we are hopeful that our small effort will go towards helping this research.”

The determined group will complete the gruelling walk which is expected to take 20 hours on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th July.
