Arlington Manor raise £2,100 for Alzheimer’s Society
Care workers at Arlington Manor, our care home in Girton have raised over £2,100 for the Alzheimer’s Society by taking part in the London Summer Walk Half Marathon.
The six team members; Jack Coupar, Chris Tedstone, Jess Turner, Emma Sewell, Hannah Goodway and Kevin Fox raised funds for the charity which campaigns for change, supports people living with dementia and hopes to find a cure by walking 13.1 miles, following a scenic route around central London.
The caring team members who look after people living with dementia took part in the challenge on Saturday.
They have already surpassed their £930 fundraising target by raising a whopping £2,100.
Lifestyle’s Coordinator at Arlington Manor, Jack Coupar, who organised the walk said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all those who donated and helped us raise over £2,100 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
“The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part. During the walk we all took in the views of the landmarks, taking photos along the way. We managed to complete the 21.1km walk within six hours with not a blister in sight! We are now planning towards the next walk which will take place in January 2022.”
