Henley Manor raise £250 by being not so lazy on National Lazy Day

Henley Manor, our care home in Henley-on-Thames, recently raised £250 for a local day care centre by holding a pyjama day and taking part in a ‘sleep walk’ during National Lazy Day.

Residents and team members at the home walked 100 laps around the landscaped gardens to raise funds for Bluebells Day Centre, which provides social engagement, activities and care for people living with dementia and related disabilities.

Team members and residents also enjoyed some sleepover snacks during their special event, which included popcorn and a chocolate fountain, and there was also a hamper up for grabs for the best dressed team member, which included a £20 Love to Shop voucher.

Customer Relationship Manager, Charlotte Bennett said: “The team and residents had a great time celebrating ‘National Lazy Day’, it felt very liberating coming to work in your pyjamas.

“The residents also did a great job in completing their 100 laps of the garden and altogether we raised £250 for Bluebells Day Centre who are such an important part of the Henley Community.

Resident at the home, Elizabeth Nutter, 90, said: “It was such a joyful day, we loved taking part in the garden walk and picking the best dressed team member.

“They all looked so fabulous and it was hard to pick a winner. Its lovely to be able to contribute to the local community in some way and I hope the money we raised helps.”
