Greenhill Manor care workers shortlisted for Great British Care Awards

We are delighted to announce that four care workers from Greenhill Manor, our care home in Mertyhr Tydfil, have been shortlisted for a prestigious award.

Sue Povey, Lisa Hallisey and Claire Jehu, who are all nurses at the home have all been shortlisted in the ‘Social Care Nurse Award’ category at the National Care Awards Wales.

Meanwhile, Senior Support Worker, Jean Lee, also from Greenhill Manor, has been shortlisted in the ‘Care Home Worker Award’ category.

The awards seek to recognise the very best in social care, and those individuals who go above and beyond with dedication and commitment to their role, whilst helping to raise the profile of the care sector.

Lisa Hallisey, Learning Disability Nurse at the home said: “I was truly overwhelmed to find out I was shortlisted for this award. I’m very proud to represent my work family on the Pennylane community at Greenhill Manor.”

Sue Povey, who won Care Registered Nurse of the Year at the National Care Awards in 2015 said: “I was very surprised and delighted when I was told that I had been shortlisted for the awards as I am part of a very good team. I feel humbled for my selection for the nomination.”

Jean Lee, who has worked at the home for 14 years said: “When I received the email to say I had been nominated as a finalist, I felt it was an honour and privilege. This is the first time I have been nominated for an award like this and I’m looking forward to the night.”

Claire Jehu, who is described as reliable and caring by her colleagues said: “It felt lovely to find out I had been nominated, it was a shock, but I greatly appreciated it! It is a lovely feeling!”

The winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at the Hilton Cardiff on Friday 4th February.
