Hallmark in Bloom is an annual competition held to find the greenest garden in the country. This year, the event ran throughout July and featured judging categories such as the ‘Innovation Award’ and ‘Best Celebration on the Day.’

Since its launch in 2003, Hallmark in Bloom has been a significant event in the Hallmark Luxury Care Homes calendar. Our residents use our gardens year-round and enjoy participating in weekly gardening clubs, but the competition allows for a much bigger impact. It’s an opportunity for our residents to live actively and independently, showcasing their efforts throughout the year.

Each home celebrated their judging day in its own unique way, from a Mary Poppins-themed event to a fairy wonderland. The homes pulled out all the stops to ensure they were in ‘full bloom’ come judging day. From visiting gardening centres to growing their own fruits and vegetables, each home made the most of their outdoor space.

We’re delighted to announce the winners of this year’s competition:

Overall Winner:
Hallmark Angmering Grange

Runner-up:
Hallmark Chamberlain Court

Most Improved Garden (England):
Hallmark Banstead Manor

Most Improved Garden (Wales):
Hallmark Shire Hall

Best Celebration on the Day:
Hallmark Lakeview

Best Use of Space:
Hallmark Kew House – For utilising every area of their urban garden

Innovation Award:
Hallmark Bucklesham Grange – For their open shed initiative, a new shed accessible to all visitors, supporting family members, visitors, and residents to use gardening tools and be meaningfully occupied in the gardens.

The homes were judged by our Wellbeing Manager, Georgina Miller, Hayley Hughes from Plantology, and various members of our Executive Leadership Team.
