Achieving Outstanding ratings across four key areas – effective, caring, responsive, and well-led – it has been widely recognised for its dedication to excellence. Testament to this is its 9.9/10 customer rating on the leading review site, carehome.co.uk. Residents and their families consistently praise the exceptional services, describing it as above and beyond. One relative even shared, “I wouldn’t want him to be anywhere else,” when speaking about their father.
At the heart of Hallmark Admiral Court is General Manager Susan Cruse, leading a dedicated team that fosters the home’s warm and welcoming atmosphere. Deputy Manager Jess Davies, an award-winning dementia specialist, brings exceptional knowledge and care to residents living with dementia. The experienced Hospitality Services Manager ensures outstanding housekeeping and dining, contributing to a truly exceptional living experience. Daily activities, thoughtfully curated by a passionate lifestyles lead, keep residents engaged and fulfilled.
For Susan, a career in care was a calling. “From a young age, I always knew I wanted to work in the care industry, but life took me in a different direction. After working in banking and raising my children, I felt it was the right time to pursue my passion. I started as a carer and worked my way up, eventually qualifying as a Mental Health Nurse in 2005.”
Her experience has given her unique insight into the misconceptions surrounding care homes. “A common perception is that residents lose their independence when moving into a care home, but in reality, it’s simply a new chapter in their lives. Our big-hearted team supports residents’ autonomy and preferences, ensuring they continue to enjoy the things they love.”
The move into a care home is a huge and emotional decision for everyone involved, both for the person moving in and their family. At Hallmark Admiral Court, every effort is made to ensure that the transition is a positive one that enables residents to continue with the daily routines and interests that bring them joy and fulfilment “Many women struggle with no longer cooking or cleaning. To help, we run a cookery club, and one resident enjoys assisting in the laundry to maintain her sense of purpose. Others worry about leaving their families behind, but our doors are always open, any time of day or night. We also regularly invite families to join us for lunch or events, making our home feel like an extension of their own.”
