Admiral Court is a modern care home in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, which is leading the way in care for those living with a form of dementia. Our General Manager, Rebekah, is the current ‘Dementia Care Manager of the Year’ (National Care Awards) and the home has been recognised nationally for its design innovations.
We provide the highest quality of dementia care as well as nursing and palliative care in quiet and comfortable surroundings. We operate a high team member to resident ratio which affords every resident the opportunity to have care provided at their pace, while our Lifestyle and Activities team ensure that the needs of each individual resident are met. Activities range from the energetic and popular Zumba sessions, to the more relaxed walking and gardening clubs.
Facilities such as the ‘Hair Salon’ and the ‘Little Ship Pub’ encourage residents to continue their everyday routines in familiar settings, while the state-of-the-art cinema and the relaxing therapy room are luxurious retreats. There is also a large café just inside our reception where residents and their family and friends can enjoy fresh coffee and homemade cakes.

Meet the team
Rebekah Smith - General Manager
I joined Admiral Court in 2012, working to maintain the highest standards, and have since won Dementia Care Manager of the Year at the National Care Awards. I qualified as a nurse in 1990, working on general medical wards and in occupational health, moving onto nurse recruitment and care management. I live in Southend with my partner and two dogs.
Sarah Savidge - Lifestyle Team Leader
My colourful, thirty year career combines professional qualifications and experience within hospital retail, hotel catering and hospitality management and also within British and United States Governmental Operations. I joined Hallmark Care Homes in May 2011. My current present role as Lifestyles Team Leader allows me to use my intuitive people skills to develop an ever changing environment that provides opportunities for all residents to enjoy an active social life within and outside our community.
Kelly Adams - Customer Relationship Manager
I joined Hallmark in 2011 as a Customer Relationship Manager, and have worked at Admiral Court since January 2014. Although my background is mainly General Management in the Fitness Industry, I chose to move into the Care Industry and have not looked back! I take pride in helping guide people through the process of finding the right care home.
Shirley Barsley - Clinical Care Manager
I have been Clinical Care Manager at Admiral Court since September 2014. I trained as a Nurse in 1985, worked in Operating Theatre for 17 years, and then onto Elderly and Stroke Rehab/End of Life Care for 11 years, before joining Admiral Court as Lead Nurse in February 2013.
